Serial interface, 8 bits, LED display driver
An overview of the
MAX7219 serial input/output/MAX7221 for compact common cathode display drive, used to connect to the microprocessor (mu P) and 8 7 segment LED digital tube display, LED bar graph display or 64 independent. Device with a built-in BCD code decoder B, multiplexing scanning circuit, and a drive and store each number 8 by 8 static RAM. Just an external resistor can set all the LED current. MAX7221 compatible with SPI ™, QSPI ™ and MICROWIRE ™ interface, the drive with a set rate limit, in order to reduce EMI.
Convenience of four wire serial interface can connect all the general mu P. Can be individually addressed each number and update, the need to write the whole display. MAX7219 / MAX7221 also allows users to choose B code for each digital coding or decoding way.
Device has shut off 150 mu A low power mode, analog and digital brightness control, allows users to display 1 to 8 digits, and limit the scan register light force all the LED test mode.
